My very first contribution to the DooM community, I've only ever done just a few maps for my unreleased project that hasn't seen a light in years. I think Paddock's contest is a great way for me to finally beat my perfectionism and show something to the world. So here it is.
Inspired by Ancient Greece theme, the map is divided in 3 areas: spiral rock, village, and ancient theatre. Ended up using a lot of water texture with a little change of terrain at the end. First fight had revenants on pillars at first but the outcome felt random. Also, unintentionally discovered a fun fight pattern with arch-vile zapping an imp, killing it, then targeting you again, so the arch-vile doesnt really stay distracted for long if you keep hiding from him.
Pretty happy with theatre(last) fight, there are a few visual glitches because of small ledges (1 pixel, infinitely tall lines on edges of the sector at certain angles of view, i tried to fix the most i could; some walls dont have a sound when moving)
The village was done last and it was rushed so its probably the weakest link in the map
Pistol is disabled.
At last, there is a hidden creature somewhere on a map :D
